3rd Quarter Senior Project Daily Log

2/10/14
Looked for a topic and figured out that I wanted to pursue the field of a Flash website that contains various elements like audio and animation. I also started downloading the practice files to try out an example project before doing a final one.

2/11/14
I started working on the Flash part of the project and added a banner and footer with buttons. I also finished up the proposal part of the project. Still deciding what the topic of my site should be.

2/12/14
Continued through the video tutorial and start working on sample page in Photoshop. Finish "Rise Against" Banner in Illustrator. Create a plan of what to accomplish over the break as far as layouts and plans go.

2/18/14
Completed the Home page and put the Photoshop page into Flash. I had to make some minor adjustments but this shouldn't alter the project in the long run. Started the "About" page and looking to finish that up tomorrow.

2/19/14
Completed the "About" page in Photoshop and will look to insert it into Flash the next time I get the chance. The project so far looks good and it will be interesting to see what will happen in the next few days as I get closer to working with Flash Animation.

2/21/14
I started working on the "Albums" page of my project in Photoshop and will be looking to finish up that part of the project along with the Contact page sometime next week. I inserted the "About" page into Flash and will be looking to animate it in the near future.

Weekly Update (2/21/14)
Overall, the project is going well but there are some challenges that are going to make the project harder. I am trying to input my own work along with watching the tutorial, so I have to improvise on somethings and find my own objects and look for different backgrounds. It's difficult but it seems like it will be well worth it in the end. My project can be found under the 3rd Quarter Senior Project file and then under Final Project folder. I will also make sure to put a copy under the Senior Projects file.

2/24/14
I finished up both the "Albums" page and the "Book Us?" page on my Rise Against site. All the Photoshop sites are now in Flash and ready to be animated. These next couple days will definitely be interesting to say the least.

2/25/14
I finished the the layout of the site in both Photoshop and in Flash. I also finished the basic animations for the site, as they will fly in to the page as well as fly out.

Weekly Update (2/28/14)
This week was very interesting for me to say the least. I was gone both Wednesday and Thursday and we did the team activity on Friday so I only worked on the page for two days. This has put me in a bad hole and it will be difficult to climb out of it. These next few weeks leading up to the deadline will be interesting and full of hard work, as baseball season has begun as well.

3/4/14
I kept working on the basic animations of the site, such as the page animation and the buttons.

3/5/14
I finished up the page animation on each page and I am now looking to linking together the different pages. So far the stop action function is not working so I will be looking to fix that tomorrow.

3/6/14
Today was...interesting to say the least. I had to get myself out of pickle early and after that I can not seem to get my UI loader to work to show the pictures even though I followed the instructions specifically in the video. Some help will definitely be needed tomorrow.

Weekly Update(3/7/14)
The project this week was a little rough this week but the project is almost finished up. I finished all the animations on the site, from the page fly-ins to the button interactions that popped up pictures. It was interesting this week because some of the stuff that happened in the video did not happen for me. This was very apparent on Friday as the UI loader would not appear and this caused a lot of frustration. Through determination and a lot of searching, we managed to figure out the problem though it took longer than we thought. With the project wrapping up here next week, it will be interesting to see how it turns out when I put it on Dreamweaver from Flash.

3/10/14
Today was very productive, as I entered in audio files and video onto the site. I should be able to finish up in the near future and hope that the page will transfer well into Dreamweaver; if that is even a step.

3/11/14
The project is almost done, I just have a few more videos to watch which will deal with optimizing the sites. These next few videos will be important in order to make my site a quality one.

3/12/14
Today ended not the way I had hoped but it looks promising. I have to link a .php email to the site in order for the "Send" button to work. This task probably won't be hard but it was something I wasn't looking forward to doing.

3/13/14
Today was a great day! I finished up the video and my site looks a lot better than it did. I can now send my emails to a .php page and have that page receive them. It was a long journey but it was definitely worth the challenge.

Weekly Update(3/14/14)
After the long and somewhat difficult journey, I finished up my Rise Against site this week, wrapping up my 3rd Quarter Senior project. It was a good project for me to do because I wasn't too familiar with the Flash software and it was probably a weaker aspect of my designing. It may not be my favorite software to use but it was a great activity to do. I didn't face as many problems as I did last week so it was smoother sailing as the project ended. It was definitely interesting to see the project grow and develop and it made me think of things from different angles in order to solve difficult tasks that this project gave to me at various times. Overall, I felt like this project was worth the trials and tribulations.
